Abstract
896,690. Valves. ETABLISSEMENTS CLESSE S.A. July 30, 1959 [Aug. 1, 1958], No. 26149/59. Addition to 803,334. Class 135. In a pressure-reducing valve in which, as in the parent Specification, a loading spring for a diaphragm 5 which actuates the valve member (not shown) can be relieved of compression and subject to tension by movement of a member 13 so that the valve can be closed the member 13 is situated intermediate the ends of the spring or between the elements of a two-part spring and is arranged to be lifted by an inward flange 32 or pins, lugs, &c. on a sleeve 31 which is movable axially in response to rotation of a knob 20 having pins 37 which pass through arcuate slots 34 in an extension 4<SP>1</SP> of a cover 4 and engage helical slots 16 in the sleeve 31. The sleeve is held against rotation by engagement of a fixed pin with a longitudinal slot 33. A fixed pin or pair of pins 39 engaging a flat spring or pair of springs 38 in the knob 20 resists movement of the knob from either of its extreme positions.
