Abstract

896,683. Washing-machines. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORPORATION. Dec. 7, 1959 [Dec. 12, 1958], No. 41429/59. Class 138 (2). Circulation of liquid for filtering purposes is effected gravitationally through a trough 27, flexible hose 28 and a removable filter 32, liquid entering the trough 27 when a perforated clothes basket 17 is rotated. The hose 28 is connected to an opening 29 (Fig. 4) in a throat portion 22 of a tub 16. The filter 32 is removably held by recessed strips 41, 42 and a flat spring 45. The filter 32 comprises a removable perforated plate 33 which can be observed through a removable transparent lid 37. The throat 22 is connected by a resilient wall 24 to the front casing wall 11 and forms a gasket engaging a transparent panel 14 in a door 13.
