Abstract

1,130,753. Washing-machines. WILKINS & MITCHELL Ltd. 24 Oct., 1966 [23 Oct., 1965], No. 44965/65. Heading D1A. A washing machine has a vertical agitator 16 with tubes 35 mounted thereon which on rotation of the agitator force water through tubes 36, 37 and out through a filter tray 29 to remove lint from the wash water. The agitator may rotate continuously or reciprocate. A knob 27 which holds the agitator in place has a flange 28 so that water issuing from the nozzle 38 is directed down into the filter gap 29 which is mounted above the normal water level. Soap powder may be placed in the tray 29 to be washed in at the commencement of agitation.
