894,918. Unit air-conditioning apparatus. STEIN, J. Sept. 1, 1958, No. 28062/58. Class 137. An air purifier has a fan mounted within a shroud in a casing and a number of ozone lamps disposed between the air inlet in the casing and an air filter which covers the axial inlet to the shroud, purified air being expelled from the shroud by the fan. As shown, air is drawn into the unit 10 by a fan 18 through an opening 11 in the base thereof, over the ozone lamps 15, through the air filter 16, into the shroud 17 surrounding the fan 18 via an inlet 17a and is expelled from the unit through the outlet 20 which is controlled by louvre flaps 24 operated by a sliding control knob 23. The air inlet 11 is covered by a mesh 12 which holds the air filter 16 in position and the motor is cooled by air admitted through a second opening 25 in the base of the unit. The unit may be fixed to a wall by a bracket 34.
