Abstract
491,651. Apparatus for ventilating enclosures. YOUNGER, A.R. Feb. 6, 1937, No. 3636. [Class 137] In a ventilating-apparatus of the kind such as is described in Specification 388,145, and including an air extracting fan such as 12 and an intake fan such as 14, a two-part casing 2, 3 is provided and two independent chambers 10, 11 are formed in one part 2, the chamber 10 housing the extracting fan and the chamber 11 the intake fan. The casing 3 is formed with outlet louvres 18 and inlet louvres 19 separated by a deflector 22, the outgoing air being drawn by fan 12 through a grating 15, and delivered through an exhaust duct 16 to an outlet duct 17 and the louvres 18. The incoming air passes through louvres 19 and inlet duct 20, and is forced by fan 14 past heaters 32 to a discharge conduit 21. The two parts 2, 3 of the casing are secured in an aperture 27 in a panel 1, or window, being held together by screw bolts 29, the portions 24, 25 of the casing 2 being held together by nuts and bolts 26. Thus the portion 25 may be removed as a unit with the fans and motor 4. A fuse 35 cuts off the current should the fan fail and allow overheating of the resistance heater 32. The fresh air duct may be fitted with filtering, deodorizing, disinfecting, or perfuming means.
