Abstract
893,092. Valve gear. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. July 11, 1958 [July 12, 1957], No. 22384/58. Class 7(6). In a valve rocker having an hydraulic tappet 4 incorporated in one arm thereof, the tappet is fed with fluid from the bearing bush of the rocker through a non-return valve 9 in a passage 16 the axis of which passes through the rocker pivot axis. The end of the bore 3 for the hydraulic piston 4 is closed by a screwthreaded plug 20 carrying an adjusting screw 6 rendered fluid tight by packing rings 21, 23, the latter rendering the use of a lock-nut for the screw 6 unnecessary. Adjustment of the screw 6 varies the force of the piston spring 5; alternatively the screw 6 forms an adjustable stop for the piston 5.
