In an air jacketed liquid fuel combustion apparatus, for jet propulsion engines or gas turbines, comprising inner and outer annular flame tubes, in which the inner wall of the outer flame tube defines with the outer wall of the inner flame tube an air space divided by a baffle, the downstream ends of the inner and outer walls are folded over to lie in intersupporting but slidable contact with one another, or with the adjacent end of the air baffle or both. The walls 9, 10 of annular flame tubes 3, 4 respectively define an air space which is open to the air jacket at its upstream end. The downstream end of the wall 10 is bent over to lie in slidable contact with the baffle 11. A sheet metal ring 13 is secured to the wall 10 and the end of the wall 9 slides between the ring 13 and the wall 10.
