In an air jacketed type of combustion chamber in which the flame tube comprises a number of sheet metal sections a, c spaced apart where they overlap by means of corrugated metal spacers e, an inner section a is extended beyond the downstream edge of the spacer and is deflected as at b so as to form with the inner surface of the outer section c a narrow air passage d. The flame tube may be either of the tubular or annular type and the combustion chamber is suitable for a gas turbine engine or a jet propulsion engine. The corrugated spacers are secured to the flame tube sections by welding.
