In an annular type combustion chamber for jet propulsion engines or gas turbines, screens e are arranged around the fuel injection nozzles h, the screens being shaped to provide a pair of segmental boundaries between a pair of adjacent combustion regions. The screens are shaped to a U-section, the sides of which have perforations f for admission of air to the combustion regions. The fuel nozzles are located in the annular plate g which has rings of perforations i for admission of primary combustion air and air swirling means j.
