A socket contact comprises a helical spring 5 wound of flat-section material and having a terminal stem 1 at its inner end. The spring is surrounded by a sleeve 6 crimped at one end into a neck 4 and having an inturned outer end 7 against which the spring abuts when withdrawing a pin to limit the extension of the spring.
