Abstract

935,793. Two-part couplings. AMP Inc. Dec. 27, 1961 [Jan. 3, 1961], -No. 46251/61. Class 38 (1). A cartridge-fuse holder comprises a tubular casing consisting of mating members 1, 2, held together against the action of a spring 9 by the interengagement of deformable annular flanges 5, 17 on the members 1 and 2 respectively, said members enclosing connectors 10, 21, crimped on to the cores of wires 12, 23 and gripping between them a cartridge fuse 15. As shown, the casing consists of polyethylene and the spring 9 is seated between the connector 10 and a shoulder 8 in the bore of member 1, so that it urges the cartridge fuse into contact with connector 21 which is in turn seated against a shoulder 20 in the mouth 16 of member 2; hence spring 9 also urges the convex surface of flange 5 into engagement with the concave annular shoulder 18 of flange 17. To separate the mating members, member 1 is pivoted out of axial alignment with member 2, when part of the flange 17 is deformed and the flange 5 can pass over it.
