Abstract
891,148. Sequential energization of load devices; transformers. CORREX COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT (1948) Ltd. June 5, 1958 [June 6, 1957], No. 18046/57. Classes 38 (2) and 38 (4). Each section 9 of a number of consuming devices has the alternating current passing through it controlled in a cyclic succession by means of an amplifier, shown as a magnetic amplifier 11 ... 13, which is in turn controlled by a device comprising an A.C. energized rotor 1, 5 and a stator 2 having as many secondary windings 6 ... 8 as there are numbers of consuming devices 9. Thus, when the rotor is slowly turned each secondary winding and hence each section 9 is sequentially energized and deenergized, and the duration of energization and the rapidity of its fall to zero can be determined by the distribution of the secondary windings and the shaping of the rotor poles. The consuming devices may be electric motors driving fountain pumps or advertising lamps of various colours.
