Abstract
890,657. Fluid-pressure servomotor-control systems; valves. ETABLISSEMENTS GROSDEMOUGE. Jan. 28, 1959 [Feb. 3, 1958], No. 3097/59. Class 135. [Also in Group XXXI] A valve consisting of relatively movable sleeve and plunger elements 16, 17, has a spring-loaded sleeve 73 interposed between co-operating ports 18, 23 to provide rapid opening. The arrangement is such that the sleeve 73 remains overlying the ports 23 until, due to relative movement between the elements 16, 17, the ports 18 communicate with an annular chamber 75 whereupon pressure-fluid supplied to the ports 18 through a passage 60 is effective on the end of the sleeve to move it against its spring 74 and permit full communication between the ports 18, 23. The valve may be used for controlling a jack for raising and lowering a plough carried by a tractor, the sleeve 16 being movable by a control lever 45 and the plunger 17 by a cam follower 48 carried by a lever 49 and coacting with a cam 51 adjustably positioned on a shaft 34 of the lifting arm for the plough. The lever 49 has a connection with the " third point " of attachment of the plough through a slotted link 54. When the elements 16, 17 are relatively positioned as shown, pressure-fluid entering the housing at 65 passes through a check valve 63 to the jack causing movement of the jack until the cam 51 brings the port 23 into communication with the port 18 when the pressure-fluid is passed through the hollow plunger 17 to exhaust 26 and the jack is held stationary by closure of the check valve 63. To permit the jack to move in the opposite direction the sleeve 16 is moved to exhaust the jack through a passage 61 and ports 82, 24. The latter ports may also be associated with a spring-loaded sleeve for giving a rapid opening. A safety valve 64 is provided.
