Abstract
890,365. Valves. MONTECATINI SOC. GEN. PER L'INDUSTRIA MINERARIA E. CHIMICA. Dec. 24, 1959 [Dec. 30, 1958], No. 43825/59. Class 135. A valve comprising a collapsible tube 14 enclosed within a rigid tubular body 10 to which fluid under pressure can be admitted through a connection 12 to collapse the tube 14 has a rigid tube 16 within the tube 14 and formed with an elongated aperture 16<SP>1</SP>, or two such apertures diametrically opposite to each other, to determine the configuration of the tube 14 when collapsed. In a modification, in which two apertures 16<SP>1</SP> are provided, the fluid flowing through the valve is isolated from the tubes 14, 16 by the provision of a further collapsible tube lining the tube 16 and collapsed by the tube 14.
