Abstract

973,412. Accumulators. GABRIEL CO. Nov. 1, 1960 [Nov. 4, 1959], No. 50453/63. Divided out of 973,411. Heading F1P. An hydraulic pressure reservoir comprises a container 167 divided into inner and outer compartments by a rigid member 172, a flexible sleeve 174 dividing the outer compartment into a gas chamber 175 and an hydraulic chamber 176, and a flexible sleeve 182 dividing the inner compartment into a gas chamber 183 and an hydraulic chamber 184. In the Figure, the container 167 and member 172 are closed at one end by a block 169, and at their other ends by caps 168, 173 secured together. The ends of the sleeves are closed by sealing rings 177, 179, 186, and by a clamp 190. An apertured tube 181 and fixed pin 196 facilitate flow of high pressure fluid from a port 192 to the outer hydraulic chamber 176. The inner hydraulic chamber 184 is used as a low pressure reservoir, and a relief valve 206 can connect the high pressure port and chamber to chamber 184, which has an outlet port 212.
