Abstract

741,031. Fluid-actuated valves. SEGERSTAD, C. G. H. AF. Nov. 10, 1953 [Nov. 14, 1952], No. 31141/53. Class 135. A valve device comprises a vessel 1 containing a fluid medium for transmitting pressure from an impulse member 11 to control a valve member 2 in which the member 11 consists of a hollow elastic body with its outside contacting the medium and its inside communicating with a variable pressure device, and the valve member is at least partly an elastic tube collapsible by the pressure impulses. As shown, pressure medium is supplied to the flat cylindrical member 11 through a pipe 14 containing a constriction device 13 and a needle leak-off valve 15. The vessel may contain a flexible or a rigid ported partition 16 to act as a damping device. In a second embodiment the member 11 is connected to the inlet 7 and outlet 8 respectively through a restriction and a valve, or vice versa, to form a pressure regulator. In a third embodiment the elastic tube has a flattened crosssection and is surrounded by an annular member 11 concentric with a tubular vessel 1.
