887,837. Compressors. FABBRICA ITALIANA MAGNETI MARELLI S.p.A. Jan. 9, 1959 [Jan. 21, 1958], Class 8(1). The effective stroke of a reciprocating compressor piston 14, 15 is automatically reduced to zero when an automatic delivery valve V is subjected to a predetermined reservoir pressure by compression of a spring M<SP>1</SP> urging the upper and lower coaxial spaced portions 14, 15 of the piston apart; the lower portion 15 being connected by an extension 16 to the end 30 of a cam-actuated rocker arm 29 and having an aperture through which slides the piston rod 18. The maximum axial spacing equals the constant stroke of the lower portion 15 of the piston and at maximum reservoir pressure this space is reduced to zero and compressor then idles.
