887,261. Cabinets &c. SINGER MANUFACTURING CO. May 24, 1960 [May 26, 1959], No. 18304/60. Class 52(1) A sewing machine 62 which is supported in a table or cabinet 17 so as to be movable to an elevated position for inspection or lubrication or to a lowered position for storage beneath the table top is releasably mounted on a cradle 16 having a bar with a flange 42 and C-shaped yokes 46, 47 to receive a depending rear skirt 64 of the sewing machine bed 63, the machine being clamped to the cradle by an eccentric clamping head 53 mounted on a narrow flange 43 and rotatable by means of a handle 59 with a free end 61 which engages the rear wall 19 of the cabinet and supports the cradle in the loading position. The cradle 16 is pivoted to the table top 18 by hinges having pins 24 and when handle 59 is turned to lock the clamp the machine may be raised or lowered in normal fashion.
