Abstract

1,196,079. Sewing machines. G. PESCHKE. 28 May, 1968 [28 Feb., 1968], No. 25594/68. Heading DIG. Thread severing means is mounted on a plate adapted to replace the slide plate usually provided in a sewing machine base plate adjacent the stitching point. A base plate 4 carries a fixed cutter blade 6, and is rigid with a bar 7 to which is secured the lower flange 18 of an angle bracket 8. The vertical flange 9 of the latter carries on one side a solenoid 10 and on the other side a bearing boss 11. A pin 12, journalled in boss 11, is rigid at one end with an arm 13 carrying the movable cutter blade 5, and is rigid at the other end with an arm 14 connected by a universal joint 15 and an arm 16 to the armature of solenoid 10. A supporting rod 22 connects base 4 and flange 9. Flange 18 and an angle bracket 19 engage the slideways in the sewing machine base plate, and are formed with threaded holes 20, 21 for clamping screws.
