Abstract

1435594 Work cutting TRIUMPH INTERNATIONAL AG 8 Aug 1973 [9 Aug 1972] 37522/73 Heading D1G A cutting device in a sewing machine head 10 comprises a blade 5 actuable to move against an anvil 7 and so mounted as to be movable around the axis 6. The blade 5 is stirrup shaped and has two arms secured by screws 12 to a member 13 movable axially of the presser bar 11 by air pressure supplied through passages 24b 24a to provide a cutting stroke. The member 3 is toothed externally at 4 and is there engaged by a toothed leg 16 of a U-frame 14 rotatable about the presser bar by a lever 13 to angularly position blade 5 about axis 6 as required. It is stated that the knife cutting stroke may be provided hydraulically or electrically, while the turning about axis 6 may be adjusted automatically by a work scanning device.
