[Also in Group XXVI] A double-cone shaft mounting, e.g. for the inner and outer shafts of a gas turbine, has a collet 9 with a conical bearing face, a collet nut 11 threaded both internally and externally, and a tightening nut 13 screwed on the external collet nut threads and engaging the outer of the two members to be joined. The mounting is tightened by screwing up the collet nut and the tightening nut alternately. The tightening nut has a flange 13a to engage the outer member.
