Abstract

883,824. Aerating turf. HARGREAVES & CO. Ltd., W. March 4, 1958 [March 14, 1957], No. 8380/57. Class 6(1). A turf working machine comprises motor driven rotation to slit the soil and triangular blades mounted on a shaft so that the tips of the blades are arranged in a helical manner around the shaft. A trailing roller 15 is mounted between arms 14 connected by a cross-bar 17 carrying tolescopic guides 18 provided with springs 19. Freely rotatable land wheels 30 are provided and are mounted on a shaft 29 which may be positioned in one of the positions 26, 27 or 28 to allow for wear of the points of the blades. Brushes may be mounted between the blades and a collecting box may be mounted in sockets 20
