Abstract

786,990. Agricultural machinery. MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR AKT.-GES. Oct. 14, 1955 [Nov. 3, 1954], No. 29288/55. Addition to 759,116. Class 6(1). The rotary harrow described in the parent Specification is modified by arranging for the rotary shaft on which the blades 13 are carried to be hexagonal and to be longitudinally displaceable in the gear casing 19. The blades are removably mounted on the shaft, being spaced apart by distance pieces 17 and held in place by means of terminal nuts 18 screwed on to the ends of the shaft. Within the casing 19 the shaft is displaceably housed within a bush 20 formed at its ends with polygonal holes 21 and keyed to a bevel wheel 22 which intermeshes with a second bevel wheel 23 mounted on a shaft 24 driven from the power take-off of the tractor. By removing blades from one end of the shaft, displacing the shaft in the casing 19 and replacing the blades on the other end, the shaft may be made to project more to one side of the casing than to the other.
