Abstract
883,455. Speed governors. PRVNI BRNENSKA STROJIRNA, ZAVODY KLEMENTA GOTTWALDA, NARODNI PODNIK. Jan. 14, 1960, No. 1463/60. Class 57. [Also in Group XXIX] In a governor in which the pressure of a motive liquid on the downstream side of a restricted orifice 8 is varied in response to governor speed by controlling a leakage gap for the liquid between a governor weight 3 and the governor body 1, the weight 3 is loaded by a tension spring 4 and attached to one end of a leaf-spring 2 attached at its other end to the governor body. Pressure oil from an inlet pipe 7 flows via the orifice 8 into a pipe 6 and through a stuffing-box 5 into the interior of the governor body whence it can leak through the gap controlled by the weight 3. Oil pressure in the pipe 6 varies in indirect proportion to the governor speed and is used to actuate a control valve of the governed engine or the like.
