Abstract
721,528. Hydraulic machines; liquid pressure engines. OLAER MARINE. Jan. 21, 1948 [Jan. 22, 1947], No. 3301/53. Divided out of 721,431. Class 69 (2). A combined hydraulic distributer and regulating valve for co-operation with a single source of constant pressure P comprises a distributer valve 117 deriving from the source a first controlled pressure, variable in accordance with its position and a pressure regulating valve 129 deriving from the source a second controlled pressure, variable in accordance with its position, the position of the pressure regulating valve 129 being adjustable solely by the first controlled pressure so that variation of the first controlled pressure results in an opposite variation of the second controlled pressure. The valve 117 comprises differential pistons, the outer end 118 being subjected to the pressure P, the other outer end being supplied by a pipe 116 with pressure liquid under the control of a valve 111; the valve 117 controls a pressure duct 124 and an exhaust line 141, the first controlled pressure being applied to one side of a motor M by a pipe 125 and to one end 127 of the valve 129 which also comprises differential pistons. The valve 129 is subjected to the pressure of a spring 130 and controls an inlet duct 138 and an exhaust line 133, the second controlled pressure being applied to the other end of the motor M by a pipe 131. The spring 130 is arranged to balance the sum of the two controlled pressures acting on the differential areas of the valve 129. The valve 111 controls the speed and direction of the motor M by controlling the difference between the two pressures applied to opposite side of the motor. Specification 721,431 is referred to.
