Abstract

883,172. Snap-action switches. MASON ELECTRIC CORPORATION. Aug. 19, 1959 [May 5, 1959], No. 28326/59. Class 38 (5). In a switch similar to that of Specification 837,434, the moving contact rollers 30 are pressed against the fixed contacts 18, 20, 22 by torsion springs 44 which bear at one end on the contact carrier 34 and at their other ends on an axle pin 32 of the rollers. The carrier has sloping surfaces 42, 43, one or other of which, when the carrier is tilted by handle 52 to move the contact to the next position, engages the pin 32 to move it radially away from the fixed contacts so as to reduce the contact pressure when the roller is to be moved to the next recess.
