Abstract

879,434. Cam-operated switches. MORPHYRICHARDS Ltd. Nov. 13, 1959 [Dec. 1, 1958] No. 38644/58. Class 38 (5). A frame-like base 1 of insulating material has a central bridge 12 carrying two spring strips 3 each with two end contacts 31 co-operating with fixed contacts 22 on strips 2 riveted to outer bridges 13. The base 1 also has upstanding lugs 14 (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown), in which two dollies 4 are pivoted. Each dolly has two cam surfaces for operation respectively on the associated ends of spring strips 3 and shaped as shown in Fig. 2, which is a section on the offset line B-B of Fig. 1. Thus each dolly has three effective positions in which (i) neither spring strip 3 is depressed, (ii) one strip 3 is depressed, and (iii) both strips 3 are depressed. Notches 42 serve to locate the dolly positions and between these positions the surface is shaped so that the spring strip 3 tends to urge the dolly into one or other of these positions.
