Abstract

925,076. Snap-action switches. OTEHALL Ltd. Oct. 2, 1959 [July 8, 1958], No. 21857/58. Class 38 (5). The moving contact carrier 12 is centrally pivoted at 11 and is caused to move with a snap into and of engagement with fixed contacts 2, 3 by a spring plunger 18 which acts on a slide 25 bearing at its ends on the carrier 12, so that the carrier cannot remain in a neutral " open " position in any position of the dolly 16. The latter is mounted by bearing surfaces 20, 21 in the casing 1, which surfaces seal the casing against the entry of dust and moisture. If the contacts weld, the plunger " bottoms " in the dolly and forces them apart positively. The carrier may support a bridging contact at each end or may include a number of mutually insulated strips co-operating with separate fixed contacts.
