Abstract
880,588. Fountains. ELVES, V. G., and ELVES, R. W. J. Nov. 10, 1959 [June 3, 1959], No. 38002/59. Class 69 (1). A drinking fountain adaptor device which is made of rubber or other resilient material is provided for attachment to the spout of a tap and is so formed that one end fits snugly over the tap and the other end may be temporarily closed by finger pressure on small restrictor buttons 2 (Fig. 1) to divert part of the flow of water through a jet passage 4 (Fig. 4). A deflecting lip 5 is provided to prevent water passing up the jet passage when water is flowing through the bore 3 during normal use. In a modification shown in Fig. 6 the deflector is formed in several portions 5a which provide a base for a screen.
