Abstract

1,029,160. Supply fittings for baths and basins, reservoir brushes. WADDINGTON & DUVAL (HOLDINGS) Ltd. Nov. 5, 1964 [Oct. 24, 1963], No 42103/63. Headings A4K and A4N. [Also in Divisions B1 and F1] Venturi mixing apparatus includes a discharge nozzle 2 having a central outlet 30 surrounded by small holes 32, and a valve member 22 actuated by a three-position cam lever 26 so that it has a closed position in which it seats in the aperture 20, an open position as shown, and a position in which it closes the main outlet 30 but leaves the holes 32 open. In the second position additive from container 54 will be induced through the non-return valve 52 into the primary flow in conduits 51, 58, but in the partly open position no additive will be induced since the total area of the holes 32 is less than that of the venturi throat cross-section, and a spray of primary liquid will be discharged from the holes 32. The apparatus may be combined with a brush 64, or with a mixing tap as described in Specification 955,040 (see also the drawing of the Provisional Specification) in which case when the valve is closed the primary stream is discharged through the top. The venturi may have the proportions described in Specification 805,046.
