Abstract

879,758. Hydraulic apparatus. INDUSTRIEWERKE KARL - MARX - STADT VEB. April 19, 1960, No. 13558/60. Class 69 (2). [Also in Group XXXIV] A device for pressurizing hydraulic systems, comprises a hollow piston 2, axially slidable within a cylinder, means such as spring 13 to bias the piston axially within the cylinder, the head of the piston having ducts 11 formed therein, a valve disc 4 having a stem extending through the head of the piston and also having ducts 5 therein, cooperating sealing means, such as sealing ring 10, being provided between the piston head and the valve disc, so that operation of the piston causes the valve disc 4 to be urged by the biasing means 13 against the head of the piston, and for the sealing means to close while the valve disc is retained in spaced relationship to the head of the piston by a shoulder 9 formed inside the cylinder when the piston is in a position of rest. Preferably the ducts 11 in the piston are disposed internally of the sealing means 10 while the ducts in the valve disc are located outside the sealing means. The hollow interior of the piston acts as a storage container for pressure medium, and the chamber inside the hollow cylinder beyond the valve disc acts as the pressure chamber.
