Abstract

991,256. Compressed gun discharge means. J. MARTIN. Feb. 12, 1963 [June 15, 1962], No. 23180/62. Heading F4P. A striker pin 7 is displaced within a guide sleeve 8 and against the action of a spring 13 to the position where it punctures the closure disc 4 of a compressed gas container 1 either by means of a first piston 15 when supplied with fluid pressure through a port 18 of a housing 2 or by means of a second piston 16 in tandem with piston 15 when mechanical pressure is applied to the underside thereof. An axial spigot 20 of piston 16 abuts the cam surface 22 of a bell-crank lever which is displaceable to the operating position on removing a cap 25 from the housing 2. Released gas is discharged through radial passages 12 leading to a peripheral groove 11 of a tubular plug 10 and from thence through an outlet port 6. Specification 991,254 is referred to.
