Abstract

998,753. Fluid-pressure apparatus. PARKERHANNIFIN CORPORATION. Dec. 10, 1963 [Dec. 13, 1962], No. 48757/63. Heading FIP. [Also in Division F2] A pneumatic or hydraulically actuated piston 13, Fig. 1, is cushioned near the end of its stroke when an axial projection 15 enters the central bore 35 of an axially floating bushing 30 which is urged by fluid pressure against a seat 19 formed in a counterbore 18 in the cylinder end cap 12, and which forms with the projection 15 a restricted fluid outlet channel 36 leading to the combined inlet and outlet bore 16 in the end cap 12; the bushing 30 being retained by a split ring 33 and having axially extending peripheral openings 37, Fig. 3, through which fluid readily passes when the bushing is forced from its seat 19 by fluid pressure at the start of the return stroke.
