879,297. Revolving barrel locks. PARKES & SONS Ltd., JOSIAH, and ORDIDGE, E. F. March 3, 1960 [March 12, 1959], No. 8522/59. Class 44. A key-operated locking device of the kind comprising a plug 1 mounted for rotation in a surrounding fixed body or cylinder to which it is adapted to be locked against rotation by either disc or pin tumblers, and to be released for rotation by a key thereby to operate a switch, the connection between the rotary plug 1 and the member 6 of the switch it operates being an axial spigot 4 containing a spring-loaded plunger 7, characterized in that the retaining plunger 7 and its loading spring 9 are made captive in a trans-axial housing bore 8 by a washer or disc 13 which seats upon an annular shoulder 14, the disc or washer being secured in position by peening over the surrounding metal of the spigot.
