Abstract

841,004. Ratchet clutches. DUX A.B. March 7, 1958 [March 9, 1957], No. 7453/58. Class 80 (2). In means for securing an element 1 to a smooth shaft 2, a helical spring 3 locks the element with one direction of rotation, and allows free rotary and axial movement with the other direction of rotation. The spring is preferably secured at one end 4 to the element and housed in a recess 6 having an end wall 8 to prevent the spring jamming on axial movement. The spring may be secured to the shaft and contained in a groove therein.
