879,229. Reclining chairs. CALIQUILT FURNITURE CORPORATION. July 2, 1959, No. 22805/59. Class 52(2). A reclining chair has a baseframe 11 on posts 22 of which is pivoted a seat frame 26 and back frame 27, a leg rest 50 being hinged connected to the front of frame 26 at 71 and links 85, 88 pivoted to the frame 11 and leg rest 50 respectively being connected by a bell crank 80 pivotally mounted in seat frame 26 so that tilting of the latter causes expulsion of the leg rest. The leg rest member 50 includes a rear frame 51 hinged to the seat frame and a forward frame 52 mounted on rods 62 telescopically received in tubes 64 on frame 51 so as to be slidable with respect to frame 51. Levers 104 pivoted to frame 51 and connected to links 88 cause sliding of frame 52 in response to tilting of the seat frame 26. A vibrator 49 may be mounted on the back frame 27. Extensions of links 85 act as stops to limit the forward tilting of the seat.
