A seat comprises legs 20 and 21 hinged to the floor 15 and seat frame 10 having a parallel motion and a back member 12 with back panel 13 and cushion 14 hinged to the angle section pillar 16 at 18 and connected to the seat member by 30 and 32; spring 28 fixed to the central portion 21b of cranked leg 21 tends to keep the back 12 errect. On removal of sprung peg 40 from slotted tongue 41 by depressing handle 48 of either of the levers 43 and 44 hinged at 45 and 46 respectively the seat may be folded so that the back panel 13 acts as a tablelike surface.
