A foldable chair has a pair of legs 2 joined at the top by a horizontal connecting part which is held in a clip 6 and backrest supports 8, which are formed to fold flat on seat 4, are pivotally mounted on brackets 5 for the other pair of legs 1. When legs 2 are released from clip 6 and collapsed into legs 1, the seat and back rest may be folded flat against the legs (Fig. 3, not shown)
