Abstract

877,284. Brackets. BULMAN CORPORATION. June 16, 1959 [June 16, 1958], No. 20648/59. Class 52(2). A bracket for holding a shelf in a horizontal or inclined position has extensions 31, 32 received in spaced slots 22, 24 in a post, the extension 31 having hooks 33, 34 engaging the lower and upper ends of the slot 22 to prevent forward movement of the bracket when in horizontal and inclined positions respectively, and the extension 32 having bearing surfaces 36, 38 and stops 37, 42 engaging the lower edge of the slot 24 in these positions. The surface 38 has a degree of curvature corresponding to the desired inclination of the bracket and the distance between the upper edge 45 of the hook 34 and the lower edge 35 of the hook 33 is greater than the length of a slot 22 so that the bracket must be rotated in its own plane for insertion or removal. In the form of upright shown the slots are formed by spot welding together channels 1, 2 having mating lanced-out sections 9, 10, 11 and 16, 17, 18.
