Abstract

<PICT:0876506/IV(c)/1> <PICT:0876506/IV(c)/2> <PICT:0876506/IV(c)/3> An apparatus for treating textiles with liquids, e.g. for dyeing textile fibres rolled on bobbins, comprises a liquid-containing closed vessel carrying a series of perforated tubes on which the bobbins are threaded, the tubes being connected to a receiver communicating with the interior of the vessel, while a reversible pump circulates the liquid in a closed cycle through the receiver and vessel, so that the bobbins are treated with the liquid, the inlet of the receiver being inside the vessel and constituted by part of the stator of the pump, in such a manner that the liquid in the receiver is separated from that in the vessel only by a rotor of the pump. Referring to the Figures, liquid passes from the receiver 3 (Fig. 1) and perforated tubes 4 (carrying bobbins 5) into vessel 1 by means of pump 8, whose stator 9 carries cap 10 forming the inlet for receiver 3; vents 11 on the base of stator 9, inside vessel 1, communicate with the interior of receiver 3 via rotor 12. The hollow rotors 13 communicate via channels 15, 18 and 19 with reservoir 20, which carries the treating liquid and which may be opened or closed. A modification (Fig. 4) carries a ring 21, around the vents 11, which can be partially rotated to make or break communication between vents 11 and reservoir 20.
