Abstract

A chromium-tungsten cobalt-base alloy comprises the following composition by weight: Cr 15 to 25%, W 10 to 15%, Mo 0 to 5%, Fe 0 to 3%, Ni 0 to 10%, C 0.3 to 0.7%, B 0.02 to 0.2%, N2 0 to 0.06%, Mn 0 to 2%, Si 0 to 2%, with one or more of .Ti.up to 2% .Mg.up to 0.5% .Zr.up to 1% the minimum amounts being defined by % Ti+50% Mg+% Zr=0.05%, the balance being Co at least 55%.
