A chromium-tungsten cobalt-base alloy comprises the following composition by weight: Cr 19 to 22%, W 11.5 to 13.5%, Mo 0 to 3%, Fe 0 to 3%, Ni 0 to 1%, C 0.01 to 0.25%, B 0.001 to 0.15%, N2 0 to 0.06%, Mn 0 to 1%, Si 0 to 1%, with Co as balance.
