Abstract
873,036. Magnetic separation. ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTION DE LA BASSE SAMBRE. July 15, 1959 [July 15, 1958], No. 24391/59. Class 117 In recovering magnetic meterial, e.g. magnetite, contained in the solids present in industrial gases, the solids are passed in turn through a disintegrator, a first magnetic separator, means for grinding the magnetic fraction output from the first magnetic separator, and a second magnetic separator for receiving the output from the grinding means. In Fig. 1, the solids to be treated are passed from a disintegrator 1 to a primary magnetic separator 2 from which the magnetic fraction passes through a demagnetizing coil 3 before being subjected to grinding 4 and passing through a further magnetic separator 5. In a wet-treatment system, Fig 2, the starting material is mixed with water at 10 and the magnetic fraction from the primary magnetic separator 2 passes through a grader 12. The fine constituents pass into the magnetic separator 5 and the remaining material passes through a grinder 15 before further grading. The magnetic material in suspension from the separator 5 is discharged direct at 17 or is filtered at 19 prior to drying The non- magnetic fractions from the magnetic separators are discharged at 9.
