Abstract

872,093. Hair curl clips. LAUGHTON & SONS Ltd. Sept. 18, 1959 [Oct. 3, 1958], No. 31584/58. Class 131. [Also in Group XXV] In a hair curl clip of the kind comprising two pivotally connected metal components, each consisting of a hair-holding part a and an integral handle b, c urged by a spring into hair-holding position, the components are formed as identical pressings or stampings with spaced, cranked, incisions g, h providing a bowed, central part k and side portions with opposing lugs l. On assembly of the clip the spring d is enclosed by the parts k, the end coils being located on the lugs 1 and the free ends e, f of the spring engaging the handles. Each member is formed with a slot n and tongue m for interengagement. In modifications a plurality of meshing or overlying hairholding parts are provided and the parts of the incisions not involved in the formation of the lugs are not parallel.
