Abstract
910,375. Spring clips. GOODE, J. A. Jan. 5, 1961 [Oct. 5, 1959], No. 33629/59. Class 44. A one-piece tie clip comprises a pair of main arms 10, 11 made of resilient material disposed on opposite sides of a tie receiving space defined between them, the arms being connected with each other at one end of the clip and free from each other at the opposite end to form an entrance to the tie receiving space so that when a tie and the part of the garment to which it is to be clipped is inserted through the entrance into the tie-receiving space, the tie and the part are subjected to gripping pressure, one of the main arms 11 being bent at the entrance end of the tie-receiving space to form an additional gripping arm 16 projecting into the tie-receiving space, the main arms being integrally connected with each other at the opposite end of the tie-receiving space by a connecting part 12 which is more resistant to bending than the two main arms themselves. The clip is made of metal or synthetic resin and the arm 16 may be either flat or corrugated as shown. The part 12 is of curved cross-sectional shape to provide the increased resistance to bending. The connection between the arms 11, 16 can be similarly curved if desired. The exterior surfaces can be decorated.
