867,938. Spring clips; stud and socket fastenings. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. March 27, 1958 [April 2, 1957], No. 9919/58. Class 44. A fastener device for attaching a member 10 to an apertured panel 16 is formed from a single piece of resilient sheet metal reversely bent to form a clip portion, a strip of metal being taken from the clip portion so that the clip portion comprises a base portion 24 and a pair of arms 26 spaced from the base portion and joined to the base portion by a reverse bend 28, the strip of metal having been taken from between the arms, the reverse panel and a part of the base portion, so that the strip of metal has one free end and its other end connected to the base portion, the strip of metal having been bent into a resilient loop 20 for insertion through the aperture in the panel, the free end of the loop being located on the same side of the panel as the clip portion when the device is assembled with the panel and the loop having means 42, 48 for engaging opposite sides of the panel. Both of the means 42, 48 are lugs bent out of legs 40, 44 which form the loop. Each arm of the clip portion has a lug 34 for engaging the member 10.
