994,034. Suspended ceilings. HUNTER DOUGLAS INTERNATIONAL (QUEBEC) Ltd. Nov. 5, 1962 [Nov. 3, 1961], No. 41810/62. Heading E1V. A hanger for a suspended ceiling comprises an elongated element, such as a strip 1, Fig. 2, provided with recesses 6, holes or the like, and a helically wound spring 7, one or more windings of which have a smaller pitch a, Fig. 6, than the pitch b of the other windings, the pitch b of said other windings substantially corresponding with the distance between two consecutive recesses 6 &c. in the element 1. The end of the spring engaging the recesses 6 &c., may be thickened, for example by a bent portion 17, the rear of which forms an abutment which co-operates with the strip 1 to prevent unintentional unscrewing of the spring. The initial end of the spring may have a pitch b. The lower end of the spring is bent into a hook 8 which engages a plate 10 having a reduced portion 11 which is passed through an opening in a ceiling carrier 13, in which opening the plate may turn.
