The generatrix of the floor of the pumping chamber 2 of a flexible diaphram pump bounded by one side of the diaphram 13 and by a lower portion 1 of a housing having an inlet duct 7 closed during the delivery stroke by the central portion of the diaphram and housing a delivery duct 14 controlled by a check valve 16 comprises outer and inner arcs 3, 4 of about equal radii r1, r2. The sector angle α of the outer arc is 135 degrees and that # of the inner arc is 90 degrees. The end 7a of the inlet duct 7 is covered by a sieve 8 to prevent passage of the diaphram thereinto. Flexing of the diaphram 13 is effected by reciprocation of a plunger (not shown) in an oil-filled chamber formed by the upper portion 11 of the pump housing.
