[Class 102(i)] In a fuel injection pump of the kind in which each injection of fuel is carried out in two stages, the barrel a is formed with a circumferential groove f surrounding at least a part of the plunger e and communicating with a vent c and the plunger has a passage h, i, adapted to establish com munication between the groove and the pumping space o the panel at the ap propriate intermediate part of the plunger stroke to terminate the firs stage of injection The plunger has a main spill passage k which co-operate with inlet parts b to terminate the main injection. The barre is rotatable for vary ing the pump output. Specifications 514,01 and 571,485 are re ferred to.
