867,271. Tilting furnace cooling rings. OSTERREICHISCH-AMERIKANISCHEMAGNESIT A.G. Jan. 4, 1960 [Jan. 9, 1959], No. 264/60. Class 51 (2). In a tilting furnace the top part 3 of an end cooling ring with its associated roof section 2 can be lifted vertically for ease of replacement, the end girders 1 of the framework being cut away for this purpose. The top part 3 of the cooling ring is located on the base 6 by projections 7 engaging recesses and has cooling pipes 5. The roof section 2 comprises brickwork suspended from girders 9 extending between abutments 8 attached to girders 8a supported from part 3. The roof section is suspended from transverse girders 4 by hangers 11 articulated to the abutments 8, and lifting eyes 10 are provided on the part 3 and the abutments 8.
